Marissa Young Associate Attorney

Marissa Young specializes in handling family-based, asylum, and removal (deportation) cases, as well as studying the impact of criminal issues on immigration status.

Marissa takes great pride in using her expertise to help individuals work towards their dreams and keep their families together. As an Associate Immigration Attorney at David Swaim & Associates, Marissa recognizes the value and significant advantages that decades of experience and success bring towards accomplishing these goals.

While attending Texas Tech University School of Law Marissa clerked for a Family Court Judge in Dallas, Texas and participated in the Family Law and Housing Clinic as a student attorney. Since joining David Swaim & Associates, Marissa has expanded this experience across all levels of immigration law, but she specializes in handling family-based, asylum, and removal (deportation) cases, as well as analyzing the impact of criminal issues on immigration status.

Marissa is invested in having a positive impact in both a professional and personal capacity. Marissa is a dog rescue advocate, has volunteered as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and places great importance on supporting her local East Dallas community. Outside of the office, Marissa enjoys spending time with her partner and their three dogs, as well as tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants.

“I wanted to be in a position where I could establish a personal connection with my clients and really help people.  Immigration law is a field where you have the opportunity to help a community of people with something that has a very significant and personal impact on their life.”
